The Region of Peel Archives preserves the history of Peel and its people. Many researchers are now looking for records of Peel's many cultural communities. Here's a sampling of our holdings:

Multicultural
- Peel Multicultural Council fonds, 1959-1991
- Toronto Multicultural Centre Association fonds, 1973-1982
- Newspaper sample collection, examples of more than 40 newspapers published in Peel, ranging from Wiadomo?ci (Polish language, Mississauga) to Th?i M?i Canada (Vietnamese language), Hindi Express (Hindi language) to Shun Pao News (Chinese language, Mississauga).
We have copies of various newspapers on microfilm. The Brampton Guardian and Caledon Enterprise have both been indexed by their local libraries.
Business directories are also a great research tool. We have a variety of old Yellow Pages phone books, as well as community-specific publications, listed below.
East Asian
- Seto family fonds, digital-only, photographs of a Brampton family of Chinese ancestry
- Mississauga Chinese Business Association directories, various years
South Asian
- Canada Bengali Cultural School of Mississauga fonds, 1983-2007
Photo albums, administrative documents. - Goan Archives Canada fonds, 1950-2012
Material on community events, religious events, sporting activities, theatre productions, etc. A mix of both documents, ephemera, and published newspapers and books. Focuses on Goans in the GTA, but includes national coverage. - Ontario Council of Sikhs fonds, [ca. 1979] - 1995
Community development organization, founded in 1987. Their aims including promotion, preservation, and education are discussed in the above link. Donor Manohar Singh Bal was the Secretary for the council. The majority of files relate to a 1990 Ontario Human Rights Commission case about the right to wear a kirpan. - South Asian Focus, 2007-201?
