PAMA Kids and Family

PAMA is a place for children to explore their artistic talents and learn about Peel's history and heritage. We offer a variety of workshops, programs and camps suitable for children ages 6 to 12+. Caregivers must accompany children unless otherwise noted.

Family Fun Activities

Saturdays and Sundays, 1 - 4:30 p.m.
Guide your family through art projects that inspire creativity. These drop-in activities are included in general admission. Members are free.

  • Aug. - For a Social Cause - Comic book creations

  • Sept. - Capture a memory and create a mini-scrapbook of the things you love
    September Family Fun Activity 
  • Oct. - Use your imagination and different colours to create your own fall leaves 
  • Nov: - Create a fun facts poster as a reminder of ways to be waste wise
  • Dec: - Use pastels to create wonderful winter landscapes 

August Staycation Activities: Sensory Exploration

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Join us for Summer Staycations where you can explore the archives, museum, and art gallery and create your own artworks in a variety of fun-filled activities. 
  • Aug. 22 - Bumps, grooves and edges are only some of the things you'll feel with collagraph printmaking. Touch and feel all the different textures that make different patterns and use printmaking techniques to create your own.
  • Aug. 27 - Different colours can be seen, smelled and tasted. Explore your senses and all the crazy colours in Manning Square before creating your own rainbow inspired masterpiece.
  • Aug. 29 - Banging, clanging and ringing are only some of the sounds that musical instruments can make. Identify different instruments just by hearing them and make a musical instrument of your own.


These drop-in activities are included in general admission. Members are free.

Art & Tots (Age 18 months and above)

Select Tuesdays, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Join us for parent/guardian & tot exploration with Art & Tots. Each month, participants will engage in a multi-sensory experience featuring a different book, active play and a fine-motor based art project.

Public: $10, Member: $5. Registration includes one adult and your children. Pre-registration is required.


Stroller Tours (0 - 18 months)

Select Wednesdays, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Explore the many works featured at PAMA in monthly tours designed for parents/guardians and little ones. Following the tour, engage socially while little ones participate in group sensory play.

Public: $5, Member: Free. Registration includes 1 adult with their children (0 - 18 months). Pre-registration is required.

Sunday FUNdays

Third Sundays, 1 - 4 p.m.
Engage with art through special activities for the whole family based on the exhibitions and themes throughout the Art Gallery, Museum and Archives.

Culture Days (Free Admission Weekend) 

Talk, read and create in celebration of Culture Days & Doors Open! Literature, methods of communication and art will be explored in a variety of fun-filled activities for the whole family.

  • Friday, Sept. 27, 6 - 8 p.m. - Snuggle Up & Read with the Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD): Put on your PJs and bring your favourite stuffed friend. Our littlest book lovers are taking over PAMA for an evening of bedtime stories, songs and quiet activities. Reserve your spot now.
  • Saturday, Sept. 28, 10 - 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 29, 1 - 4:30 - Communication Station: Explore different methods of communication over the years from rotary telephones to typewriters and old cellphones. Convey a secret message with Morse Code artwork.

Halloween at the Boo-seum

Saturday, Oct. 26, 1 - 4 p.m.

Spook your way into Halloween with fun activities for the whole family as you explore PAMA collections, exhibitions and create your own artwork.

Spooky Stories Tour

Saturday, October 26, 1 & 3 p.m.

Explore the history of PAMA with guided story-based tours of the jail, courthouse and grounds. Geared towards a family audience, these tours will educate and excite with spooky stories and fun for all ages.

Public: $5 Member: Free. Pre-registration required


Winter Break: Art Attack

Dec. 23, 24, 27, 30, 31, Jan. 2 & 3, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (2 p.m. on Dec. 24 & 31)

Join us for Winter Break Art Attack and explore the archives, museum, art gallery with a special art project each day.
