Exciting events you won’t want to miss this January
Fantastic Landscapes: Collaging Workshop
Thursday, January 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Create your own fantastic landscape inspired by the exhibit, Fantastic Landscapes: Beyond the Ordinary. Following a tour of the exhibition, we will explore composition, texture, and layering collage techniques. This session is free and designed for ages 14+, but perfect for all skill levels. It encourages creativity and personal expression through reimagining natural scenes into vibrant, one-of-a-kind artworks.
Cost: Free. Registration is required through the Brampton Library.
Open-Mic and Paint Night with Speak Your Truth
Thursday, January 22 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Join PAMA and the Brampton-based youth-led organization, Speak Your Truth, for an inspiring evening of performance, art, and advocacy. Explore the exhibition, Remember | Resist | Redraw: A Radical History Poster Project, which shares histories that are often overlooked or marginalized in mainstream historical accounts. Enjoy spoken word and musical performances, meet new people and reflect on the themes of advocacy, community and resistance by creating your own artwork inspired by the exhibition and performances.
Cost: Pay-what-you-can. Space is limited, registration is required.
Workshops 101 with Brampton Arts Organization (BAO)
Helping You Feel Zine: A Happiness Zine and Illustration Workshop
Thursday, January 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This workshop is for all ages and focuses on creativity and self-expression, including visual journaling. You’ll learn how to make your own happiness zine using simple materials like paper, markers, and pens. Our team will guide you through easy illustration techniques while you explore ideas around identity, imagination, and everyday life. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have your own hand-crafted zine that celebrates the people, moments and things that make you happy.
Workshops 101 is a professional development program led by the Brampton Arts Organization that helps Brampton artists with the tools and training required to design and facilitate their own arts-based workshops in the community.
Cost: Pay-what-you-can. Registration is required.
