PAMA’s summer season shines with a new exhibit, workshops and events

BRAMPTON, ON (Jun. 24, 2026) – Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) has an exciting line-up of family fun and adult workshops this summer season.

Did you know?

  • You can borrow a PAMA admission pass from your local library (Brampton, Caledon, Mississauga, Milton, Newmarket, and Vaughan) and enjoy free admission for 2 adults and up to 5 children.
  • You can ask for a personalized tour with one of PAMA’s Visitor Service Guides, available with the cost of admission all-year-round. For July and August, we’ve expanded our schedule to include tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in addition to Saturdays and Sundays.
  • You can also enjoy DIY (do-it-yourself) studio time activities every weekend, which change each month. In July, discover artist Milly Ristvedt's artwork Voice in the Air in the exhibition Abstract Art in Canada and create a colour-inspired work of art of your own.

New exhibitions

Home is Where the HeART Is: Through the Eyes of Youth 

July 11 to November 1 Organized by PAMA’s Youth Council, this exhibition features artists aged 14 to 21 from Peel Region as they explore their personal definitions of home. From physical spaces to emotional landscapes, from cultural roots to chosen communities, the works in this exhibition reflect the diverse experiences and voices of youth today.  

Workshops and events 

Story and art making with Brampton Library

Tuesday, July 7, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. (location is at Four Corners Library) 

Join Brampton Library for a special story time featuring I Hear You, Ocean, by Kallie George. Dive into the magical sounds of the ocean, then bring the book to life by creating abstract, ocean-inspired artwork with a PAMA educator.

Pixel to print with Brampton Library 

Thursday, July 9, 6 to 8:45 p.m.

Design your own digital character to decorate a tote bag using Brampton Library’s makerspace equipment at PAMA.

Hand-built clay: from basics to beyond 

Thursdays, July 9 to 30 (4 weeks), 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Explore the art of hand-building with clay in this 4-week creative series designed for beginners and curious makers.

Words in motion: downtown Brampton hike and write 

Saturday, July 11,10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Join Maria Talotta for Words in Motion: a guided, place-based experience designed to clear the mind, awaken the senses, and reconnect participants to the natural rhythms of their local environment.

Family summer fun days 

Saturday, July 18 (pay-what-you-can admission day)

Enjoy special family tours, story time in the gallery, art activities, and special guests.

  • Family-friendly tour:1 to 1:15 p.m.
  • Storytime in the gallery: 1:30 to 1:50 p.m.
  • Button making:11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Abstract art:10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Music exploration*:2 to 3 p.m. (ideal for ages 5 to 16) *Space is limited for music exploration. Registration is required.

Creative explorers 

July 7 to August 20, Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Drop in for hands-on, instructor-led adventures and become creative explorers.

  • July 7: Create action-based spin art.
  • July 9: Make your own iron-on abstract patch.
  • July 14: Use colour, art, and texture to create artwork inspired by water. 
  • July 16: Create your own glossy, colourful art inspired by a sweet ingredient.
  • July 21: Create a floral art inspired by an unusual artifact in PAMA’s collection.    
  • July 23: Create pickle art (yes, pickles)!
  • July 28: Explore Brampton’s floral roots and create your own blooming masterpiece.
  • July 30: Design a mixed media piece using paint and collage techniques.
