Bishop Evon and Sonia Nunes

Bishop Evon S. Nunes is President of the Canadian Apostolic Ministry, with which the North Peel Community Church is affiliated, and is Pastor of the Triumphant Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) of Ontario, located in Etobicoke. Married for 50 years, he met his wife Sonia in Jamaica; they have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.

Canada was seen as a land of opportunity while they were growing up in Jamaica. “We came for a better life, like pioneers of faith”, building on a legacy of earlier ministers who left Jamaica for Canada. They both still have a strong connection to their birth country, returning to see family in Jamaica each year.
