Our commitment to privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
The information we collect
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Peel Art Gallery, Museum + Archives (PAMA) website. On some pages, you can register for programs and services offered by PAMA.
The types of personal information collected when you register are:
- Name
- Address
- Phone Number
- Credit Card Information
The way we use information
We use the information you provide about yourself when you register on the PAMA website only to be able to facilitate registration for our offered programs and services and to notify you of events and news concerning PAMA. You will have the option of not receiving events and news updates when you register for a program or service with PAMA. PAMA only shares the information that is necessary for third parties to administer a program or system on its behalf.
PAMA uses return email addresses to answer emails we receive. Email addresses will not be shared with outside parties EXCEPT as noted in the previous paragraph. PAMA may use your email address to send out a request to participate in a survey or receive advertisements, and newsletters concerning events and happenings at PAMA.
This information will be used for the following purposes:
- Registration for programs, events, special exhibitions and workshops, payments, mailings (for invoices, advertisements, surveys, newsletters), facility rentals and its administration for the Peel Art Gallery Museum + Archives (PAMA), Region of Peel.
- To process your requests for services, products or further information.
- To communicate with you regarding services or products that you have requested - for example to send you a statement or a receipt.
- To advise you about changes to our web or onsite service offerings and of service interruptions.
Our commitment to data security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
How you can access or correct your information
You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by emailing us at infoPAMA@peelregion.ca. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.
You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending in a request that credibly shows the error.
To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before giving access or making corrections.
MFIPPA privacy of personal information in government records
PAMA must comply with the Ontario Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) in protecting the privacy of personal information in PAMA records.
Before you submit any information, be aware that:
- Any personal information you send to us over the internet is subject to MFIPPA. (Subsequent printed versions of electronic correspondence are also subject to this legislation.)
- Your personal information may be accessible under this legislation. Electronic information held by PAMA, but stored on systems outside of a PAMA owned domain name, might also be made accessible under this legislation.

PAMA strictly limits access to personal information to only Peel Region employees who need your personal information to carry out their roles and responsibilities. Any and all exceptions to this privacy statement will be identified at the moment your personal information is being collected. Any changes to this privacy statement will be posted as necessary so that you are always aware of what information is being collected, how we will use it and under which circumstances.
We use cookies to collect information anonymously
PAMA uses a browser tool called a 'cookie' to collect information anonymously and to track how visitors are using our website. A cookie is a small text file that tells us which web pages are being visited and by how many people. We use this information for only statistical reporting and review the results to improve our websites. A cookie contains a unique identification (ID) number that identifies the following each time you visit one of our web pages:
- Your browser (i.e. Internet Explorer)
- The Internet Protocol (IP) address
- The date and time of your visit
- The IP addresses of the websites you linked to while visiting our site
A cookie DOES NOT identify you personally. Cookies don't reveal the identity of any user, and we never combine information gathered by a cookie with personally identifiable information such as your name, phone number or email address.
We use web analytics software to collect data for statistical reporting and also use web analytics software, which records site visits. The data we record from helps us understand our visitors better and design our websites to meet their needs. This software collects this data and produces reports we then use to improve our websites.
The data we gather is not connected to any personal information, so your anonymity and privacy is protected at all times.
