“Stuff” matters

Artifacts make history real, capturing moments that matter. Whether an artifact on display is a dress hat, a farmer’s plough, a television set, or a mechanic’s tool, it's a touchstone that brings memories and meaning to life.

We display artifacts in exhibits to help explain and interpret both shared and very different experiences.

Objects connect people, reflecting changes in our businesses, government, education and social lives, reminding us of the past and celebrating our lives here and now. What artifacts tell the stories of your family life?
