Show seniors in Peel Long Term Care how much they matter
Sponsor the gift of a Creative Care Kit this June
BRAMPTON, ON (Monday, June 6) – June is Seniors Month, and the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) is challenging you to support a senior in Peel’s Long-Term Care and Adult Day Services by sponsoring the gift of a Creative Care Kit.
We challenge you to sponsor a gift of a Creative Care Kit for $30 this June: Donate now
PAMA has also joined the Great Canadian Giving Challenge organized through CanadaHelps to raise funds to support local seniors in Peel. Every $1 donated in June is a chance for PAMA to win $20,000 which would go toward building even more robust programming.
Life during the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging, particularly for those in long term care facilities. Visits from loved ones and being able to socialize with friends were restricted. And many day programs were put on hold as necessary precautions. Let's show them we are thinking about them! The Creative Care Kits were designed, with the help of Long Term Care staff, for seniors in one of the Region's five long term care facilities along with those taking part in their Adult Day Service programs. They were designed to help participants maintain their best possible physical and cognitive functionality. Each kit is filled with activities inspired by PAMA's collections. Recipients will be able to create their own works of art, read stories, learn about the history of our vibrant community, and of course, have FUN! Most importantly, they will feel seen and valued.
Creative Care Packages will include:
- A custom PAMA calendar
- An activity booklet with suitable creative opportunities and challenges and stories about the PAMA collections
- Art supplies for the activities: pencil crayons, a watercolour set with brush and special watercolour paper
- PAMA tote bag, notebook, pencil, pen and some lovely blank notecards
And a few more surprises!
Special thanks to our partners: Peel Manor, Sheridan Villa, Malton Village, Tall Pines and Davis Centre.
